Kitchen &
Interior Renovation
The existing kitchen was too old and unpractical for a family of 5.
The new kitchen design considered the family's athletic life-style and the house surrounding environment, located near the beach.
To achieve a more spacious working space, more light and more storage, I proposed to remove the wall that was separating the laundry/storage space from the kitchen.

The Study
The clients' clear vision for the desired style provided a swift commencement to the design process. This explicit direction facilitated a quicker and more efficient exploration of design elements, ensuring a more seamless alignment with the clients' preferences.
Reality and Render of New Kitchen

The preferences were: classical shaker doors, yet have a modern and simple design and that contained lots of storage and drawers.
They had a passion for classical looking appliances and one of them owned a lighting company and expressed his dislike for downlights.

Opting for cool colors had the effect of enhancing the greenery of the outdoor view, while also tempering the warmth of the timber floor. The white cabinets served to highlight feature appliances too, which were recommended to have contrasting colors. Additionally, the island, the handles, the black tiles, sinks and Zetr GPOs were also distinguished to stand out and to match with the cooker and rangehood appliances, allowing them to blend in with the overall design.

Hardware & Practicality
Having small spaces to work with, especially in the laundry, meant smarter hardware solutions, such as bifold pocket doors and practical solutions, such as inner drawers and pull out basket trays. The island spaces has been maximised thought drawers and seemless storage doors under the benchtop overhang. The corners of the benchtop have been conviniently curved, knowing kids would move around it and potentially hit the edges, as it happened with the previous peninsula.
